Leading companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Google, and Amazon are implementing new policies that encourage or require employees to return to the office.

This shift reflects a growing sentiment among some businesses that in-person collaboration fosters innovation and strengthens company culture. While the full impact of these changes remains to be seen, it marks a notable transition in the work landscape.

While the pandemic initially sent employees scrambling for home offices, the tide is turning in the tech industry. Major players like TCS, Infosys, HCL, Google, Amazon, Meta, and IBM are implementing policies that nudge or mandate a return to physical workplaces.

TCS, Infosys, HCL: These Indian IT giants require employees to be in the office at least 3 days a week, citing benefits like teamwork and employee well-being.

Wipro: Similar to its peers, Wipro emphasizes teamwork and innovation as reasons for its 3-day in-office mandate.

Google and Meta: Both tech titans require employees to return to the office for 3 days a week, with Google implementing a co-working space policy and Meta potentially taking disciplinary action for non-compliance.
Amazon: This e-commerce giant adopts a stricter approach, potentially jeopardizing the jobs of those who fail to meet the 3-day in-office requirement.
IBM: Taking the most hardline stance, IBM mandates US managers to report to offices or client locations at least 3 days a week, with potential termination for non-compliance.
